Curling season is just getting underway, and our members are making travel arrangements for the first away bonspiels of the season!  This weekend (Oct 16-19), some of our ladies are heading to New Jersey to participate in the 10th Annual Mid-Atlantic Women’s Bonpspiel, hosted by the Plainfield Curling Club. CCVa will be represented by Alex Carroll, BJ Palso, Christine Alessi, and Kirsten Frese Collins.

Next month, several club members will travel the East Coast participating in the Cool Duck (11/7-9) at Ardsley Curling Club (NY),  1st Annual Embassy Row Bonspiel (11/14-16) at the Potomac Curling Club (MD), and at the Harvest Bonspiel (11/20-23) at the Philadelphia Curling Club (PA).

As more bonspiel registrations become open and events on the calendar, look for more CCVa members curling abroad!  But, there is no need to leave the River City to curl!  CCVa’s Fall League begins Saturday, October 18 at 8:30 pm.  Register online for the 6-week league in Richmond.

The CCVa will host a 6-week Fall League on Saturday nights, starting Oct. 18th and ending on Nov. 22nd. The cost for members will be $110 for all 6 weeks, with sparing opportunities at the normal spare rates ($20 for members, $25 for non-members).  This will be a full league with set teams, standings, a schedule of play, broomstacking, and all the other fixin’s that go with a full league. A guide to the league dates and times is below: 

10/18 at 7:00 pm
10/25 at 9:00 pm
11/1 at 7:30 pm
11/8 at 7:30 pm
11/15 at 9:30 pm
11/22 at 7:30 pm

We will also be playing one more week of pick-up curling this Saturday, Oct. 11th, from 7:30-9:30pm with the normal rates of $20 for members and $25 for non-members. You do not need to RSVP to attend, but we would appreciate it!
