(STEVENS POINT, Wis.) – Day one of USA Curling’s newest championship event is in the books as 32 teams took the ice at the 2013 Arena National Championships at the Canlan Ice Sports Arena in Fort Wayne, Ind.

The four-day national championship, featuring 19 men’s and 13 women’s teams from across the United States, is being hosted by the Fort Wayne Curling Club.

Several teams remain undefeated in the double knockout championship event, which will conclude on Sunday afternoon.

This evening, CCVa’s Team Tsamoutales from fought a close game against the host’s team, Team Lampkins from Fort Wayne.  It came down to the last rock in the last end, but Lampkins finished with an 8-7 win.  Earlier in the day, Team Cooke from CCVa suffered a tough loss against the undefeated Team Robinson from Pittsburg.
