CCVA at the 2013 Cherry Blossom Bonspiel

The Curling Club of Virginia had a blast at the 11th Annual Cherry Blossom Bonspiel hosted by the Potomac Curling Club in Laurel, MD this weekend. We had two teams competing in the four-day event and we are very proud of them!

CCVA I (Team Collins) consisted of:
Richard Collins, Scott Walters, Kirsten Collins, Andrew McBride & Sarah McBride.

CCVA II (Team Cooke) consisted of:
Brent Cooke, Curtis Sirles, Travis Hamilton and Sam Sparks.

On the first night (Thursday March 21, 2013), we celebrated two big wins for both Team Collins and Team Cooke!  In the second round, Team Collins suffered a tough loss but Team Cooke advanced to an early morning game after a late-night victory.  Saturday morning, the teams took to the ice again but both came up empty-handed.  Team Cooke participated in a final game late Saturday night but a tough loss prevented them from advancing to the finals.
