Congratulations to Teams Cooke and Tsamoutales! They were selected to compete in the inaugural Arena National Championships, sweeping into Fort Wayne, Ind., on July 18. Nineteen men’s and 13 women’s teams will compete to reign supreme on the national arena scene. The four-day national championship will take place at the Fort Wayne Curling Club, housed in the Canlan Ice Sports Arena.
Teams from Arizona to South Carolina will compete in this first-ever championship, which was designed to give club curlers who utilize arena-style ice conditions a place to duke it out to determine the top arena team in the nation. Team Cooke is made up of past president Brent Cooke (Midlothian, Va.), Richard Collins (Midlothian, Va.), Travis Hamilton (Richmond, Va.), and club president Scott Walters (Midlothian, Va.). Representing the ladies on Team Tsamoutales are Julie Tsamoutales (Upper Marlboro, Md.), Connie Walters (Midlothian, Va.), Kirsten Collins (Midlothian, Va.), and Pamela Kemp (North Chesterfield, Va.). Good luck and good curling to all as the take the ice in Indiana later this week!
