(FORT WAYNE, Ind.) – History will be stamped tomorrow as the very first champions of USA Curling’s newest championship event will be determined. After a busy day of action at the Canlan Ice Sports Arena in Fort Wayne, Ind., the playoff field for tomorrow’s semifinals are now set.
The day started off right for the CCVa men with a win in the first draw against Team Moir from Denver, with a final score 8-5. They continued the fight that afternoon against Team Dittberner from Vickingland, Minn., but Dittberner prevailed 10-3. The CCVa ladies also kept the stones moving against Team Walsh keeping it tight into the last end, but Walsh won 8-5 to advance to the finals against Team Knott. Team Knott had a narrow victory over Team Tsamoutales on the first day of the event. At stake tomorrow is winning the inaugural men’s and women’s titles at the 2013 Arena National Championships.
